Guardrails carry two separate design requirements at once: a structural load requirement (the rail assembly has to resist a specified concentrated and uniform load without failing) and, for pool enclosures specifically, a barrier-compliance requirement under Florida’s residential pool safety provisions — maximum opening dimensions, minimum height, and non-climbable construction. We design the rail system to satisfy both at once, not just whichever one is easier to detail.

Common applications include pool deck and lanai guardrails, elevated walkway and balcony railguards on waterfront and multi-story properties, and stair guards on elevated decks and docks. Post spacing, baluster gap, and top-rail connection details are all sized to the specific load case and barrier requirement for the installation, not a single generic spec applied everywhere.
